My PLN does not have the traits to help developing professional post-course since my PLN are usually not for study purpose. In order to have a PLN that help professional development post-course, I should create or aim for a new PLN that is just intended for study. And I should find a suitable online platform such as community college sites or “Linkedin” for it.

Yes my PLN can more or less relied on to open professional opportunities. I am confident that if I carefully mange my social media presence and resources, I am able to develop a professional career online. That means I also have to expand my PLN a lot more in a manner of professions.

Media literacy has always been one of the biggest issue people discuss. Conflict happens when one’s belief don’t agree with another’s. Media is one of the most powerful weapons to control trends and comments. People see what they see, and generate different thoughts based on what they see. Therefore, conflicts and disagreements. Sometimes it is a good thing to see other point of views. Under the circumstances that there are so much media misleading information or media lies, some people are confused about the factual information as well. Thus, factual information is not so factual anymore. This could raise up to a philosophical study where Nihilism is emphasized. But in my opinion, see everything that you can and decide based on your own experiences and knowledge. Again, conflicts come from that too.

Having a PLN help values media literacy. Your PLN provide you with a lot of different point of views to revalue media literacy over and over. Not to mention that the PLN you created must show at least some level of similarities on valuing media literacy. Briefly, people who are on the same page can discuss problems more efficiently.

Social medias such as Zoom , Discord, Facebook are beneficial in education under circumstances and regulations.

When working with the vulnerable sector, social media fit into professionalism and regulations under the following circumstances: the platform is strictly monitored by educators, the platform is plain and simple without too many distractions, the platform is convenient and glitch-free, the platform is mainly intended for educational purposes.

The risks and benefits of engaging with public audience in a media space as a public figure are quite a lot. The risks are inappropriate behaviors would result in a loss of reputation, authority strength, fan base and so on. There are countless examples of it. For instance, Kanye west. Furthermore, companies reputation would be damaged as well, public figures might have to be ready for law sues. The benefits of it are good advertisements, great influences, convincing speeches and so on.

Most public figures ignore negative reviews, their agents usually handle stuff like that. For personal negative reviews, I think the best way to address it is review it personally, some of the voices and judges can be learnt and people can use it to improve themselves. For trash talks, I suggest ignoring it is the best way to handle it, Internet is an open space you can not stop this phenomenon.

Most of the popular social medias have direct messaging function. This is definitely the most common way social media engage communication. Furthermore, people are able to post and comment on other peoples post, this is another way to engage communications.

There are a lot of challenges behind communications on social medias. Initiating a conversation is hard. People can say whatever they want on social medias and that can cause problems. Network problems, technical issues are part of the challenges as well.

Communications on social media is inclusive, everyone are free to say what they want to but there are some restrictions such as privacy .

My PLN does amplify other peoples view, I am the type of person who listen to and understands other peoples idea and thoughts before I engage my own voice.

When employers uses social media to communicate with either employees or staff, they expect them to talk in a formal tone. An employee uses social media to represent a company, his behaviors matters to the entire enterprise. They have to be really careful about what they say or do.

Influencers need to learn using social media better to advertise their contents to expand their PLN. Commentators should do the same thing but also they have much broader choices.

The benefits of a diverse and inclusive PLN in social media sharing that understands where you are coming from with messaging that impacts the community are your voices can be heard better through the platforms. More people are able to hear and read your messages. Great way to advertising your contents.

To engage in a social media campaign , I would want as many people to see my appeal as I can. So I would purposely expand my PLN to as large as it gets.

To achieve that goal , firstly, I will start creating a professional digital identity that is opened to the public. Secondly, I will be creating many posts about the campaign that I initiated, and hashtag every single of them with related topics. By doing such, the algorithm would let more people who care about the same topic see and understand my campaign. At last ,I would use my personal digital identity to share the campaign posts, then my PLN could see my campaign and they would share it to their personal learning network and their PLN would do as well. After spans of sharing contents, a PLN that is interested specifically in your campaign will be established.

The spreading of social medias are unbelievably fast, posting on multiple social medias would help building your PLN.

I would say my PLN is fairly diverse. My PLN takes place in a lot of areas such as school, friends,tiktoks,Esport contents and so on. All of them are either professional or private. And the people in my PLN is diverse as well including families, friends, colleagues, strangers…

PLN definitely helped me learning so much i could not learn on my own. It also taught me what others are thinking. And it is amazing that so many thoughts are interacting on the internet which really broaden my knowledge of the contents. Even though some of the voices are pretty wrong or offensive , seeing all kinds of people online is quite helpful for understanding the online society and my own PLN.

I am ensuring my exposure to diversity and inclusion by keep in touch with the contents and the people in my PLN. For instance, I browse my social medias which has all kinds of posts and contents by people everyday and commenting and liking some of them. And i also expand my PLN often by talking to people who shares the same interests online.

Individuals are very likely to continue with their content and network. However, some major changes in one’s life could result in not continuing and sometimes it just depends on the mood and chances.

Some of the skills people developed are applicable in professional practice. Like interacting professionally with people online is a skill and it helps people when they talk to their colleagues. The emotional quality(EQ) they developed also help them in real life. Moreover, people learn new things every day through PLN , some of the skills must be useful in a professional practice.

Personally, I use Linkedin, Google, Facebook, and Twitter to develop my professional network. And those are commonly used for professional network developing. Companies also let their employees use their privately designed apps to participate in job events.

While expanding professional network, first of all, risks can not be ignored. Even though professional network would give less essential information than personal network, it is still possible to be used to do illegal or dangerous businesses. Making your digital identity unique ,formal , and professional would definitely help expanding it. Then use the algorithm wisely can support expanding professional network as well.

Data privacy and security will restrict PLN , when people are expanding their network, data privacy and security must be considered more or less because less information exposed would result in one’s profile being seen less. However, sometimes Data privacy could promote PLNS as well. The network you established would be more professional and safe.

Digital identity is who you are on the internet , We can create it by saying what jobs we have, what roles we are, what are our hobbies and so on. Also, digital identity can be identified through your daily activities on the platform. For example, posts from instagram shows what you are interested in, how you are living your life, and what personalities you have.

When creating a digital identity, no matter if it is professional or personal. it will introduce yourself virtually on the internet. Employer would respond differently based on if one’s network is private or professional. If an employer accessed your professional profile such as Linkedin, they would respond due to the job experiences, diploma, and contributions. If a private profile is shown to the employer, they would respond based on your personalities , hobbies…

After this weeks reading, I have a deeper understanding of what digital identity is. Digital identity is your own presence on Internet, it is how you act on Internet, It is like a footprint on Internet, Digital identity is who you are.

In my opinion. personal digital identity is more private, more inclusive. Personal use of social media tend to be focus on one’s personal interests such as sharing contents or looking for contents that interest you. Professional use of social media can be comprehensive. It is more public, everything about the account can be found by everyone. Thus professional digital identities are often used for advertising , commercial, and work. However, personal and professional social media use can not be isolated. Even though changing privacy settings can reduce the risks of ones personal account being found , th

e algorithms will somehow expose ones personal account through professional account.

Digital identities usually attracts to one another because of the algorithms or the data flow. For instance, Instagram would recommend friends suggestions based on how many friends people shared in common. Digital identities converges in networked publics definitely benefits people in many ways. People can socialize using their digital identities more conveniently with the modern algorithms, people can find the group that share the same interests in easily. However, negative impacts about this phenomenon can not be ignored. With the algorithm, strangers can find you easily and you do not even know how they did it. Moreover, a lot of hidden threats can be caused by the algorithm; usually involves fraud or information leak which iItalked about in the first blog.

Social networking using social medias helps people connect with their friends, familes, colleagues, companies or just random groups very conveniently and efficiently. Instead of writing letters and send them to actual mails to connect with people. Social media speed the procedures up without doubts.

Speaking of the convenience of social media. It definitely motivates us to connect with people more often because it is just a matter of clicking fingers. People are motivated to connect with their families and friends because of bonds, with companies and colleagues because of works. This is the network people are in. Furthermore, we often have chances to connect with people that we share the same interest in. For example, tiktok would give user contents based on what they browse frequently, by doing such, users have chances to connect with other users in comment section.

The rewards of public communication are its convenience and efficiency. Rising platforms such as Instagram and Facebook make public communication so much easier. However, the risks of public communication are always around us. Fraud calls and texts are all over the place. And depending on each age groups, leaking information such as banking or addresses happens daily. Making a short videos that reveals peoples surroundings could be a huge hidden threat as well. People really have to be careful with public communication.
